Be Back Later...
The time has come, and I am off. I will be processing and swearing in to active duty with the US Army bright and early tomorrow morning, then shipping out to Fort Jackson, SC for Basic training. Although this is a pivotal and exciting moment in my life, it is a time where I will not be able to contribute to RFAROnline.
Expect my return in early December after I have reported to Fort Benning, GA for Officer Candidate School.
I trust that Chris, Brian and the others will be able to keep you all thoroughly entertained and informed throughout the next 10 weeks. God Bless.

As Carl's father I have a few words. I just left Carl with his recruiter for the first part of his new life journey. I have to say that I am slightly concerned about him, as a parent should be but I share his excitement as he moves forward in his life and follows his passion and dreams. I am also very comfortable with his choice as I know he has the desire and ability to do what he sets his mind to.
Further, I believe he is doing a job that matters.
There are many jobs that REALLY matter in this world today, Police, Fireman, Doctor and other medical professionals, scientists', plus many others. Without these jobs being performed by honorable and dedicated people, life here in th U.S. would be impossible. Taking it a step further, I believe the job of the U.S. military is the most important job there is. Without the men and women who have volunteered for these jobs/duties since the American Revolution, our freedom, our rights, our liberty, our security, our way of life would vanish. So today I am sad he is leaving but I am very proud of his decision to serve our country. God bless and guide him and his fellow soldiers as they perform a job that matters.
