Imus is Back
Don Imus is back in the news this week...for a few reasons.Yesterday, he and CBS Radio reached a settlement, ending the dispute over Don's terminated contract and allowing him to return to radio on another show. Radio industry analysts are predicting that Imus will return to their airwaves soon.
However, new developments are entering the fold as Imus is now being hit with a lawsuit from one member of the Rutgers Women's Basketball team. Kia Vaughn is suing Don Imus, CBS and NBC for libel, slander and defamation and expects monetary compensation of an undisclosed amount. "This is a lawsuit in order to restore the good name and reputation of my client, Kia Vaughn," her attorney stated.

Do I even need to voice an opinion on this one? I look forward your input...

Imus shouldve never been let go in the first place. So much worse is seen all over pop culture today (music, other radio). I can't help but feel that Don was targeted, or simply held to a "higher" standard just because he was a older white guy in a cowboy hat.
I hope he comes back strong on air and I will be sure to listen.
Honestly, those who dont think before they speak shouldnt be given the opportunity to spend their careers speaking to people in public areas (AKA radio).
Don Imus is a perfect example of how our society can go wrong. On the other side, he is an even better example of how society fixes its wrongs when they step over the line. He will not be back and will pay dearly for his mistakes...
I love/miss Don and his crazy antics...I anxiously await his return!!!
I hear part of the lawsuit involves ripping out the First Amendment from the Constitution
