Fred Thompson at the Top

Rasmussen has just released their latest polls for the 2008 Presidential nominations. While Hillary Clinton continues to gain points on Obama, the interesting story today is that Fred Thompson has passed Rudy Guiliani, 28% to 27%. This has become an expected phenomenon as Thompson has been gaining in the polls ever since the possibility of his run came into focus. The interesting thing here is this: He still has not committed to running.

This shows tremendous support for a candidate that seems to fit the mold for what America needs right now. July 4th will be the official announcement day for Thompson if he chooses to run. After reading the stances, listening to the platforms and tuning into his ideology, I can safely say that I am with Fred Thompson.

Side note: I hope Hillary continues forward and wins the Dem nomination, simply because America will not vote for her. Can anyone tell me what has she done for any of us in policy, ever? I look forward to hearing that argument...just keep it clean guys.

I agree that Fred would trash Hillary, but I think even fewer people would vote for Romney (mormonism). Fred is by far the best bet. Everyone should support him.

The thing with Hillary is she only has a political career because of her affiliation with Bill. She is simply trying to ride the Clinton name into the white house. I do not think, however, that there is enough of the Clinton following left to give her that support.

I see a toss up between Guiliani and Thompson...but they would be great on a ticket together, eh? All I know is that america needs a true conservative in the next election or we are in serious trouble as a nation.
