Failure is not an Option

The results have returned from the Iraq Study Group, the political world has reacted and the final outcome is in: NOTHING.

No one down in Washington D.C. seems to be taking this report seriously...but how could you? It took a full commission headed up by James Baker III and Lee Hamilton 8 months to come up with the most ridiculous 79 recommendations that essentially could have gone unsaid, have already been done, or make no sense whatsoever. In the end of it all, the Bush Administration has kindly rejected a majority of the report and its recommendations, as well as the House and Senate over on Capital Hill (done in a not so friendly fashion).

On top of it all, this report did not seek out the solutions it was established to obtain. Not one shred of this report is positive and all 79 recommendations are ingredients for surrender and failure. Why are we considering timetables for withdrawal when all that will do is tell the enemy when we quit? Why are we thinking about negotiating with the enemy (Iran and Syria) who have committed countless resources to insurgent militias to ensure we do fail in Iraq? How does that negotiation begin? Why is one of the recommendations to have the Iraqi border secured and patroled by the "neighboring nations (Iran and Syria, the enemies)? This is hogwash.

This commission has disgraced our integrity and will to succeed. It makes fighting a tough battle even tougher and creates even more lack of support here at home. All that will come of this report is increased levels of divide here at home, which makes for worse policy and less support for what is right. People are working right now to strip us of our safety and security, and the pivotal factor is victory in Iraq and the middleeast overall...maybe instead of fighting policy here at home and establishing victories for our enemies (remember, no matter what a democrat tells you, we are the good guys...), we should be unified in the effort to succeed for democracy, freedom and security.
